The results of the tests vary according to the tests
In the case of PCR tests, the commitment to deliver the result is between 24/48 hours after the test has been carried out.
The antigen test, the delivery time for the result is 40 minutes after the test has been carried out.
The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique detects a sequence of genetic material (DNA) of the virus in question.
It detects the virus in the active phase, i.e. when the person is symptomatic and potentially infectious.
A positive test will indicate the presence of the virus in the body, although it will not indicate what stage of the disease the person is in..
They detect that the person has passed the disease or has had the virus for more than 7 days, thanks to the antibodies produced by the organism when the disease has passed and the pathogen is no longer active.
The sample is taken through a nasal extraction.
